Norse style Cooking pot
copper, brass, iron
This Norse style Medieval cooking pot used to be
a pot fit for a Noble Household.
Pot base is construed from hammered thick copper,
attached by hard soldering to copper top part.
Top part top edge is bent over the iron ring (still inside the copper)
Cast Brass handle holders are riveted to the pot with steel rivets.
Handle is made from hammered copper.
Outside of the pot used to be gilded in silver
and at least one inch from bottom part used to be Gold gild.
Spots of silver and Gold gild still remain on the pot surface.
Age wear: small bends,iron rust,
gild wear to almost complete non existent,
Heavy lime sediment inside.
Pot approx. 19 centimeters in diameter at the base,
16 centimeters in diameter at the top,
14 centimeters height without a handle,
23 centimeters height including handle
and weight approx. 1.1 kilos
Otherwise, the pot is still intact and still holds water inside
